I am really clueless about what the hell these shift codes and what their purpose is. I have yet to encounter anything in the game that prompts me for a shift code.

you open the chest in Sanctuary. its in place where fast travel is at. you get rare items from chest. most time its 2 rare items i am still using 4 of items i got out of chest with 2 on each my guys i have at lv 50

An easier alternative, for PC users, is to use an edited profile.bin file that generates infinite keys.

[Reality Compromised]

Started true vault hunter mode with a level 32 siren. No gold keys at all. Haven't got stuck yet but making a repeated trips to the new u station. Wishing I would have finished the you will die....seriously mission right about now.
