There's a british duo that have been doing Space Marine armor for some years (they even got featured in Make magazine). They're designs used fixed hands though so they could keep the arms proportional.

I like this Terminator though.

Coolest I've seen included controlled oversized hands. Your real hands wire into special gloves that are connected by cables and such so that the motion of your fingers is transferred to the larger suit fingers.

But I wouldn't mind building a few suits of that stuff if I had the space.

That's awesome. Though my favorite is still the gears of war one a group had did, i think they made a few suits of armor, they look pretty much exact.

Thats pretty awesome. Theres a giant statue at the maryland headquarters that we always used to joke we were gonna steal it and make it into a suit

That's awesome!

Though I think my favourite game-inspired cosplay has to be this:

Bioshock one is cool but that Warhammer 40,000 one is fantastic. I like the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Dawn of War games rock.

I like the idea of a father-daughter bioshock team but, the effort put into those costumes simply do not compare to the Terminator costume. It shows in the details.

wait, those suits actually have shoulders at the correct places?
