here is the email he sent me. sounds like there is two new designs he is working on.

"No need to send a picture. We finally had the same thing happen here. Did you at any time remove the cap and reinstall it? Either way, it is not your fault; there is still something wrong with the design. I am currently testing 2 new designs, but since the last one was tested well over a thousand shots, I am not sure how to prove the new ones. 1 design is different enough that is will be version 2, not 1.4. I can send you a replacement of the current one right away. When installing, use loctite and tighten it fairly tight. I grab the piston cap with my left hand while I tighten with my other. Make sure to remove any excess loctite. Let dry before you shoot."

I have yours in my possession, just need to drop it in the mail, sorry Jack

I'll call Brian and see if he needs a tester for the new piston(s) and see what he has in mind. I finally had the gun freeze up in about 30 degree weather, stayed frozen for about 10 minutes or so before the co2 boiled off enough to clear the reg. Not that the piston had anything to do with that.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

Well ... looks like I just joined the club ... "Ah've got a Thumper doon, a Thumper doon!"

It currently fires a few times then nothing, doesn't air back up, doesn't fire ... pull it apart, re-assemble and I get one maybe two or three shot then it'll either lock up or back to nothing. I've had this sucker apart so many times now I'd likely be able to do it blindfolded.

Looks like I'll have to brave the border and send it back to Metadyne, bummer ... it was pushing 280 so I was happy and looking forward to some playtime. So much for that.

Looks like either my hammer is dropping under the valve pin, or my reg's locking up. And as luck would have it now my VASA o-ring just gave up the ghost ... yay.

My Thumper died yesterday Was shooting fine, but I suspect the culprit may have been when I took 3-4 shots right to the gun. I'm wondering if paint got inside and caused something to stop working. I was a little ticked about taking several shots to the gun from a semi-auto player that we were nice enough to allow to play with the pump group. I think when I'm down to a 1v4 and stuck in the snake with my stock class thumper that several shots from a semi-auto is a bit overkill, especially when I'm not even looking your direction when you shoot me.

First time I've gotten to get out and field test the gun since its returned. I shot fine, but was shooting at 340 fps. I turned the reg down and its now leaking like crazy with every pump. *sigh*

Sounds like you may have a shredded oring on the piston.

If it leaks out the back by the velocity adjustment then it is the large oring on the reg piston. We really need an oring kit of the sizes that thing eats through.
