Has anyone felt the need to try a SLP reg? We were talking about this on saturday, maybe 700-800 psi of air/co2 directly hitting the reg is making it work too hard? Can it function on 400psi of air? I have a SLP reg'd bottle, maybe i'll do some test this week and see.

The pressure in a fresh twelvie at good temperature can reach 900+ psi so that might not be the cause of the issue.

But trying to lower the pressure entering the marker could help the reg on this point I think!

i tired using a high pressure regulator in the vertical asa and was having trouble. my thoughts were to open up the internal reg so i didn't have to work at all and use the external reg to control velocity. problem is the valve is only rated to handle a max of 300 psi and there is no way to figure out what pressure the marker is running at.

I tried the same thing Joe with the same results. I am not giving up on it that quick though since I ran out of air half way thru messing with it. I re chronoed using 12's just to reset the valve next i will try to replace the 12s with air and check the velocity. then I can put the vert reg on and keep increasing the pressure until I get the same velocity. at that point the output of the internal reg should be the same as the output of the hpr, then I will check the pressure before continuing. then I can open up the internal reg until its not really doing anything. at that point the velocity should be determined solely by the vert hpr. Thats the theory anyhow. now if I just had some air.

So I just have to ask, how many people feels this gun is worth the pre-order price?

There was a "STEEL" version, i had one before i sent mine back in for upgrades. A Stainless steel version would be nice, or Titanium.

However ive not had an issue other then the cheap orings used on the new Aluminum version.
