I set mine about three threads in. Some say half way so you can adjust more but I like mine 2-3 threads in from flush. I use a medium valve spring and a light hammer spring.

would using a heavey valve spring and a light main spring be good or bad? and could haveing your IVG screwed all the way in a big problem with effeciency?

If you are using a heavy valve spring you should have a shorter dwell time (time the valve is open to let the air push the ball out). But, if having to crank the IVG in all the way with a light spring is the only way to achieve velocity then you need a lighter valve spring. There is a balance between the two springs and your regulator to get best efficiency.

so far i havent notice anything different, i just set it that way because i thought it was supposed to be, would you recommend keeping it toward the back end of the lower tube? But also could that be my prolem is that the valve is open too long or something of the sort because of the IVG being in that much

If it doesnt change anything then the hammer has been opening the valve and slamming against the valve retaining screw. It sure could be the problem if air is getting dumped out of the valve/barrel because of the hammer setting on the valve stem. I would do this:
1. Look for leaks
2. Change springs out (valve med/soft, hammer soft)
3. Set main reg to 275psi ( and then sweet spot it)

Tell me what is making you think it's going through air like crazy? Did you check for leaks?

there is no leaks, shot around 30 balls and it dropped 200-300 on the tank

So, 1400psi to shoot 210 balls = 4200psi to shoot 630 balls. Well, that is better than one hopper shot with a full tank. Your up to a hopper and two pods. Now you need to match springs and sweet spot the reg and it should get better.
