007 powdercoat or plate?
Started in on a 007 I bought a while back. Other than being gummed up and in great need of a cleaning it's in pretty good shape. Internals polished right up. Thankfully there are no stupid rental numbers scribed into it, no deep scratches and almost no tool marks on it.
Trying to decide on a finish for it. I actually have 2 so was thinking of either a matched pair or a ying/yang type of thing with nickel / black on opposing pieces (body, valve body, barrel tip). Maybe the "right" thing would be a plain old restore to nelson "black". Any thoughts?
Here she is so far. Obviously still need to do the grip frame and the inside of the tubes.

I would like to be able to have a quality nickel plating done, if I knew it would be done right.
I'm not sure it you could plate the grip though? Different metal.
A quality plated 007 is surely not going to detract from it's value, and might reduce the the barrel ID by a couple thousands.
Everybody has a powder coated Nelspot, but how many nickel plated ones have you seen?

Things Im looking for: Surf Rods, Fly Rods, Fly Tying, Fishing Stuff, Telescopes, Stock Class guns.
