B-Square makes a nice 3/8 to Weaver style base adapter. it has a low profile too. that's what i used to mount an EOTech sight on my SI. worked great!

MidwayUSA - B-Square 3/8" Dovetail to Weaver-Style Adapter

How well do some of those cheap red dot sights work? Like that $8 one from walmart, will it work with the phantom well?

Back to the topic.

I just bought these 3/8" dovetail to weaver pistol adapter rails to use on my phantom. They only raised it like 1/4"

those look cool, especially the ranger, pesonally i hate sights on pb guns, i find them slow and useless, i can aim much faster and better without, but that comes down to personal taste, i only find pb sights useful on pistols, because the marker isnt long enough to aim down the barrel and doesnt have the solid tripod feel of having a stock.

I normally would not bother with a sight on a sniper or other setup where I can sight down the barrel. But when the barrel has a pump handle that goes around it and then you add a meaty great fist that gets even more in the way then good luck on seeing ANYTHING you can use to sight with. I'm amazed at how well some of the regulars can snap shoot their Phantoms. All I can say is that they must do so much of it that paintball becomes an all consumning passion and they probably forget to eat when doing their snap shot mantra.....

But I have to use trickery and technology to try to keep up..... so I went red dot. The open framed Crossman was a test. I like it but they are too fragile for anything we do. A properly placed paintball hit would probably take the whole upper unit off the base. So along came these all metal sealed units that should be a lot more reliable.

The Tasco Red Dot one was not cheap. $45 from the local Wally's. The other is one of two I got through Ebay direct from Singapore or Tiawan. Two units delived to my local postal outlet for a total of $25 shipping included. And they are actually nicer than the Tasco one.

Kahnif, spend a little more and get the tubular ones like these. The open framed ones are just too fragile. But if you want to try them I'll make you a real good deal on the two I've got so you can try the idea out without spending the big bucks. The ONLY advantage to the Crossman ones is that they fit the dovetail frame directly. PM me.
