Bottom line setups for Mavericks, Tagmasters, etc

Got myself a slick looking Tagmaster courtesy of Lee here on MCB. But I'd like to add a bottom line to it so the tank isn't fighting for space with my mask when sighting my next quarry. BUT.... as you folks with these know the grip is just a hollow plastic part with no real structure to it.

So I'm wondering what sort of mods you've done to allow for solid mounting of the bottom line ASA's to be fit onto your plastic framed old school pumpers. Or did you have to use a new or modified grip frame?

I usually just find a bottomline adapter for an EuroGrip from here or eBay. No mods needed, just bolt it on and add the hoses.

Does this longer screw run from the ASA all the way up to the trigger part through the hollow of the grip? The whole reason I was worried about all this is because there's not much that's decently strong down at the end of the plastic grip what with the whimpy little slide on end cap. But a longer screw that runs the whole length of the grip would fix that... Hmmm.

The adapter is milled so it slides inside the EuroGrip and the screw goes all the way through to the frame. The Lonestar bottomline adapters work the same way. Both are very solids setups, so there should be no worries as long as you occasionally check that the long screw is tight.

Removing the grip

I found the manual and see the schematic...but how does one go about removing the grip to potentially replace them?

Thanks in advance...I'm nervous about ruining my current grip.

FYI, the manual: http://www.combatgames.co.uk/downloa...n_id=49&m_id=4

Whoa... Dead thread?

Either way, I will answer your question. All you need to do is use a long(er) allen key to unscrew the hex screw and remove the grip. Then all you need is a 3-4" long threaded bolt to replace it with to go through the bottomline and then thread into the grip. Nothing to screw up at all.

I have fun sometimes moving my Euro Grip, Lonestar, and 45 Frame between my markers.

My Maverick now has a Lonestar w/ bottomline from my Montneel Z-1, and it is VERY nice.
