| Newbie Join Date: Aug 2010 | Jeremy Salm Sniper Matrix
One day I might write a book about the day this incident happened but the truth is only Salm knew what he was going to use it for when he borrowed it from me after my miserable Cup had ended with Lockout. Anyway I have for you today the original "Sniper" Matrix that was used in the infamous incident that took down Team Avalanche. This is the actual gun used by Jeremy and borrowed from me to shoot from the woods at World Cup at Ground Zero in an attempt to solidify Avalanche's chances of winning. I figured it's just time to let it go and maybe someone else out there is interested in owning it. I'm not really sure how I can verify it as the actual gun other than posting it up and hoping someone close to the incident will vouch for me. Anyone who knows the story is well aware that I have always owned it. It will also come with the P8nt magazine that has the photo of the gun in the back of the golf cart after it had been confiscated by Jerry Braun and crew and 1 of my Lockout Team jerseys. I’m not sure what price to put on it because let’s be honest it’s still just a DM3 without eyes so I’ll say it’s $500 obo Paypal or Money Order only. I'm also open to trades so offer up! If anyone has any questions or comments please feel free to post or e-mail me at teamaddicted@hotmail.com Thanks, Jeremy Hazlewood ![]() This is a GREAT explanation of the incident for those of you not familiar... "NPPL/PSP Paintball World Cup 2002 in Kissimmee, FL. For those of you that don't follow paintball (which, I suspect, is most) at this time Avalanche was one of the biggest teams out there. They were the stars of the documentary Push and you really couldn't get much of a bigger name for a team. At this time, paintball was still 10 man, and one of the matchups of the day was Avalanche vs. Ground Zero (who would later become New York Extreme). The location where they played World Cup was bordered by woods on one side, so to defer costs they only netted 3 sides of every field on that part of the property. Since there wouldn't be spectators on that side, they didn't figure they needed any. During the Avalanche/GZ game, Jeremy Salm of Avalanche snuck out in the woods and started shooting out Ground Zero players. After Pete Usching figured out where he got hit from, he took off into the woods and ran after Salm. He caught him and Jeremy had to do the walk of shame out of the woods in front of all the spectators. This got Avalanche kicked out of the tournament and Jeremy Salm banned from paintball for the next season. It also led to the implosion of Avalanche and one of the fastest falls from the top for a paintball team. It's referred to as the "Salm Sniper Incident". The funny part is, as one pro from another team said: "Dude, if you can't beat Ground Zero, you shouldn't be playing pro." Since then Avalanche has rebuilt with a completely new team and has mostly restored its standing in the pro world. Jeremy Salm took a few years off and is now back playing for Chicago Aftershock. In a sport as young as paintball, 2002 seems like ancient history to some and the incident has largely been forgotten, but a few of us old timers remember it. I was there to see it happen. It was the biggest story of that year." Last edited by teamaddicted; 08-20-2010 at 12:13 PM. |

OMG the fact that such a nice piece of paintball history is on the market makes me sad, but the fact that even less people know about it is even worse. That is for a fact "the gun" used, no doubt about it. $500 is a fair price for the most "famous " paintball marker Sorry to see you let it go Jeremy, I hope who ever gets it takes the same care of it as you did

It is nice that a gun that has a big history is not being sold for $4,500. Free bump for a good price for a great looking gun. http://warpig.com/paintball/tourname...up/index.shtml go to "Friday" and read. It will elaborate on "the Incident"

Ahh I remember this, good times in the PB world during this. GL with your sale, pretty cool piece of "dark" history.
