I know this is probably not the right thread for this question, but it may help potential buyers.
What is the difference between the F-1 and the F-2? In the pic they appear to be extremely similar, except for the missing barrel grip... are there any other differences?

It's sad that I've had both of them and don't remember what the differences are... Help?!

F-1 is side cocking and had no external velocity adjuster (although some replaced the stock part with the F-2 part).
F-2 is top cocking and has external velocity adjuster.

F2 was supposed to have many improvements over the F1, but none were really that amazing.

First off, the barrel on the F2 uses a top screw to hold it in place and has the ball drop into a cut out in the barrel, very similar to teh automag barrel design. The F1 had the standard screw in barrel found on almost all guns. Also the stock F2 barrel had a built in foregrip. It was not a vertical like we are all used to today, but just a thickening of the back barrel area with molded plastic.

The F2 had an adjustable bolt that allowed for control of the velocity AND the recock. This ended up being a huge time waste for most users. You really only needed to control the velocity.

The F1 featured the side-cocking technology that was standard on all the Tippmanns of the time. An aftermarket rear cocking kit allowed F1 users to seal the side hole, thus reducing the dirt intake on the bolt. The F2 completly sealed the back area and utilized a top cocking bolt, that connected the bolt and under mounted internals. The F2 bolt could be removed quickly on the field for cleaning.

Overall, I like the ideas presented in the F2, but found the F1 a more enjoyable gun to use.
