I have successfully made these for a nelspot out of .5 OD copper tubing and they work quite well.

I filed mine on the bottom and bent it ever so slightly out of shape so that the liquid could have a place to flow, then drilled holes in the back part of it so it can flow into the inside and out the power tube. I was having velocity issues but I think that is due to the stock internals and not bored out stock powertube.

I plan on boring mine out on the lathe. I broke my first one trying to bore it out. The holes are not always centered on the stock tubes, so I ended up going through the sidewall on a thin spot. I really ought to just buy a lapco.
