| Lever fund: $330.52/???? | Redux Thumb Screws.
So, as I was sitting around doing nothing on this lovely rainy Sunday, I had an idea. I've forgotten my hex keys on more than one occasion, and that can prove disastrous if you need to switch inserts. So I went to Lowes, and found some goodies. ![]() It's simply a brass thumb nut with a button head screw through it. A bit of red loctite holds things together quite nicely. Took a little work to get it just right. I had to cut the screw to the right length, and grind down the bottom part of the thumb nut to get it to fit in the slide latch's groove. It looks nice unmodified, but I decided to see how it looked if I ground the top flat, and hit it with a cratex polishing bit. Finished product: ![]() ![]() I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. It doesn't stick out that far off the body, either. Took me about an hour to get it just right. What do you guys think? Oh, and yes...I did some brass grip screws as well. Brass makes everything prettier ![]() If any of you guys wanted one, I may be inclined to make some more.

Thank you guys! It's a nice touch, I like the way it looks on there and it serves it's purpose very well. Very convenient. It will work on a Duck too, but the screw needs to be a tad bit shorter otherwise it binds on the snub. As soon as I get my Duck patched up, I will be whipping one up for it. I have to do a little more digging, I want to see if I can get every exposed screw in brass. Just for the full effect, you know? Haha!

Fantastic amigo! I really like the look of your Dux in a world of slate Redux's it is very unique indeed. Do I foresee an extended brass barrel in your future?

I wish I had the tools to make stuff like that, I'd be all over it. I have an idea of who could do a knob, barrel, and feed cap, but I'm not sure about the trigger. This little guy is just a labor of love with some hand tools haha!
