I am still interested in any and all models of markers/parts.

Makes doing design work so much faster and easier.

Alright, I'm working on this now.

Cross your fingers that Simon is willing to host files once more.

I wish these were out there for every marker.

I hope it's not all the parts in the gun?? would be a shame if someone ripped off the design that way.

I do hope you're being sarcastic, Apoc.

not at all... It takes a lot of work to design those parts, the design geometry shouldn't be available to just anyone... could end up coming out of a factory off-shore, and that would be horrible.

edit: does Rodney know about this? I should hope so... if someone reverse engineered my work and put it into IGES format for anyone to download without my approval, I'd be livid.

Well, you're being insultingly foolish. The geometry is available in pictures, this just provides more precise measures of the geometry. Besides, I'm pretty sure I got permission from Rodney to post these the same as I did from Mike for the Phantom; even though they are legal for me to publish without such consent.

Even then, we both know that some off-shore factory couldn't produce these at anywhere near acceptable quality, nor could they market them effectively; or perhaps I give you too much credit. These are meant to provide people with a foundation for aftermarket design work, and that's how they've been used thus far.

Well now, just wanted to make sure... didn't mean to insult you in any way. Just wanted to make sure it was okay with the owner of the design property is all, didn't know you did CCI ones too or I'd just as well have assumed it was cool.

As for the offshore concern... fully justified. anyone sufficiently equipped for machining the parts along with even a junior engineer could build working guns in a short period of time... it's not that hard to reverse engineer such simple mechanical markers, and even easier when the geometry is so clear. it really doesn't take a genius to make these things... but it does take an artist to make them well.

I really think you should talk to Rodney about this, I asked him a while ago and he said that he had put so much work into tha gargoyle that he didnt want them to get like shared/copied. He rather sees that if you want to make something custom, design it yourself because you will feel better about it. And most measurements can be found on the phantom CAD that Mike has approved.

I do appreciate your work tho Siress, I think the phantom model is really fun to play around with and get measurements, but I think you just should ask first, like you did with CCI. Otherwise, keep up the good work!

I hope you can understand my English and that this makes some kind os sense
