There's a couple things that you could do.

1. Send it to me..you might get it back

2. Break it in by just playing with it until there is enough wear to allow the rod to move freely.

3. Break it in with the aid of light lapping compound to speed up the process of wear.

Is it possible that one of the rods has gotten bent?

With the Gargoyle tolerance being zero, it's not unexpected to see some issues like this until she breaks in. However, if you think the rub is so drastic that something could be truly wrong feel free to send it back.

Edit:
ew ew.....is it still the stock Bolt rod that came with the Gargoyle or is it from a Phantom as a replacement? Those rods are custom made and are shaved down lower than a Phantoms where the rod goes into the bolt. If that portion is to long it would for sure push the rod down lower than it should be and cause a severe rub.

I dont know if it is the stock bolt rod but it binds even when the bolt is not connected.

I started to type a reply earlier and got distracted and lost the reply. When it was with me, the only resistance in the pump stroke was when the bolt oring came in contact with the barrel. The bolt rod was stock. In fact, I think the only thing I took apart was the top cover. I hope you get everything worked out.

Yup, my minibuzzard. Never leaving my hands. I liked the garg though, that is why I want a new one!
