You most certainly CAN! Excessive oil will cause the bolt to gum up. I have seen snapped mainsprings and gummy bolts. Do not oil the bolt or spring.;)

Retrovalves and all the others have an aluminum reg back half. The only all stainless valve AGD made was the Classic, Minimag etc. Emag valves were 1/2 alum also.
