Tell me some info about this PGP?

Edit: I just realized my thread title is not a question.. ignore the above ? mark ..

I've been asked if I would be interested in purchasing this PGP. Here is the cell phone photo, sorry for the crappy quality -

Attachment 22986

Can any of you guys give me some information on it? I'm looking mainly for the estimated production year and whether or not this would be a good deal (the price is low compared to what I see them go for on here and eBay). This one looks fairly new to me (maybe mid to late 90's), but I'm no expert at all with PGP's.

Thanks,

Some larger photos for closer inspection:

$50/60 or less and you'll be fine on the price. It's the pre2k model. No clue on the valve without getting into it. Could need a rebuild.

Wow, thanks for the fast responses Titus and tom. I figured so. The pump handle is similar to the one on my late model KP3.

What are the two different valve types and what are the differences between each?

cart valve & the other which name escapes me ATM. Difference is cart comes right out, other you'd need a valve tool if I remember correctly.

I would say so. Many upgrades out there for them now too.

Ok cool, I figured it had something to do with a valve tool being involved. Is there a bigger preference for either valve?

40 is great. I think a few almost brand new ones just sold on here in the ~$100 range.

P-Series = Non Cartridge valve - need a valve tool to remove.
PA-Series = Cartridge Valve - slides out with some coaxing. (wood dowel)

I have both a pre-2k, non Cartridge P-Series PGP and a 2k PGP with a cartridge valve.
I find I get better efficiency from my P-Series, but that is only comparing my two pgp's, and it may have more to do with the barrel length than the valve...but that's my experience, for what it's worth.
