Ok I think I solved my problem... It turns out that depending on which PGP you have the hammer has a slightly different depth for the spring to sit in. Only a handful of markers were produced with this oddity. I solved the problem with a few (8) washers small enough to rest inside the depression of the hammer. so far so good. I can get 280 fps with the allen set screw in the middle of the RVA

thanks for all your help guys... I only found this out form a guy who used to service Sheridan products in the late 80's early 90's.
