There are many different flavors of levers out there. Generally most are sidetubed to some extent. I prefer spring feed because there is always a ball ready for a a followup shot. Non-springfeed side tubes are fine, but you have to rock back every time.

I've seen a few direct feeds and they are just fine, but you might want to get a vertical adapter or an airsource of some sort to feed the amount of paint that you'd eat through. I forget who it was, but at the three rivers game, there was someone with a right feed, vertical aired KL. Had a small pocket hopper to the side and worked just fine.

The world is your oyster, have it setup however you see fit. Good luck!
