If your not cocking with the rva all the way in then spacers will not help you. You can try stretching the hammer spring but that'll only work for a day or two, probably needs a new one.Just went through this with mine

Have a small Allen wrench handy (one that "just" fits the port on the cart valve) when you slide the cart back in.

Once you have it lined up on the grip frame screw, place the Allen wrench in the vent hole and make sure it drops right into the cart.

Any obstruction attend too right away.

The cart has to have the ports perfectly lined up or you will get crap for efficiency.

Always worked for me.

I would bet it was left cocked for a long time and your main spring is shot.
