PM-1 Help

Okay... I bought a PM1 from a fellow MCBer... I got a decent deal, but it has two issues... I want to see what you guys think.

First, the barrel is a bit chewed up at the tip... looks like it took a drop somewhere. Nothing major (didn't notice it in the pics) But... it's not perfectly round for the last 1/8" or so. Seems to be flaired out (from sticking the cap from my oil in it and looking at where the light comes through) Grrrrrrrr...

And secondly, it leaks from where the front gripframe screw goes... empties a 12gm in seconds. I think it might be a piercer seal (necver had a leaky PGP before)... or I read in the Sheridan thread to add a washer to the 12gm holder so it seals tighter...

Is it worth it? I paid $80 for it in the end.... but now feel a bit frustrated with the deal...

id say a pmi1 for $80 is worth it, and the piercer seal isn't hard to replace, you just need the tool and a seal kit (or be willing to ship it to me for replacement) but by the time you ship it around, it might be better to just invest in the parts and dive in...id say lose the last 1/8th of the barrel, you wont miss it

the chamber plug seal is bad and needs to be changed. you'll need a tool and seal kit like chplstone said. you might as well buy the stuff you need and dive in. it's not hard and there are plenty of people here to help talk you through it.

I third what he said. And just ditch that last part of the barrel. Use a pair of tubing cutters so that you get a nice square cut and then polish that freshly cut area till it is smooth and completely shining. Wouldn't hurt to flex-hone it once you are done either.

It'll cost maybe one or two dollars in seals from Americanpaintball. I had to replace the puncture seal on my beat up KP, but now it's shooting great. You still got a good deal. Don't PMI-1s usually go for around $120 in decent condition?

As for the barrel...try shooting it before deciding whether its a problem or not.
