PGP mods and tuning.

Finally got myself a PGP again after a very long time. Looks in really good shape and practically new.

Velocity seems a little low, and the cocking is a bugger! very tight. Looking for info on tips for tuning and any modifications.

Is it an older PGP or a PGP2k?

Does it have a velocity adjust (RVA)? If not I highly recommend one....that and a speed changer for 12 grams (assuming it's an older model) are the only two things I think are musts for every day shooters. If it's an older model, I'd just pick up a new main spring from MaD and that should cover you.....add in an RVA and you're playing for years.

I'd take the bolt out and clean it. Lots of time there is just gunk in there that slows it down. ALSO.....take off the pump handle. I can't tell you how many times I've found a ton of gunk between the handle and the lower tube that just slows it down.

Check the spring between the bolt BBs too. Sometimes I clip off a couple rings to smooth it out. If you are a hold the pump handle forward guy you can take the BBs out and get it much smoother.

Be great if I could install a front hand shield. I've had my hand slip in front of the barrel a couple times in the middle of a firefight. OOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!! LOL!

Get a fast changer from Palmers or find an extended changer.

They are much easier to turn and your fingers won't slip in front of it.

Digging up an old thread here, but is the lead seal really necessary? I was thinking of pulling the valve (assuming non=cartridge and yes I do have a Sheridan valve tool) to polish the body internals, but I don't ahve a replacement for it. I thought I heard it wasn't necessary? Any insight is appreciated.

Lead seal is not required after polishing internals and or replacing seals.

If you have a fast changer consider an insta pierce, I had mad customs put one in when I sent my pg to him.

While we're at it, any mods to increase effiency? Aside from a good bore to paint match. Canadian weather can really suck for 12grams

Anyone have any idea for home mods you've done or seen? I tried asking on another group and pretty much the reply I got was "send it to Glen", which isn't really what I'm after.
