how to strip a pgp down to brass

I just bought this pgp from someone and I want to strip it down to brass and then polish it.

Anyone got any ideas as to how to strip it down to the brass?

I agree. If you insist on the brass look, find somebody who regrets doing it and trade them

my thoughts exactly Fluff. find someone to trade with. having a polished out Sheridan is not all that it's cracked up to be. it's constant work to maintain the finish and chances are you'll regret doing it.

I actually really like Morfesto's PGP. I love that old Sheridan camo look. Nice gun you got there, man.

Well the plan is to get a brass trigger frame like this and I wanted the pgp to match.

i agree again Fluff. it's a beautifuly worn gun that hasn't been abused... aged like a fine wine... and it'd be a shame to polish it IMHO.

Morfesto, i see your intentions for the polished Sergison(sp?) frame and i'm sure someone would be more than willing to trade you a different pgp that would be a more suitable candidate for polishing. post an ad in the trading section and you may find one that is already polished.

but if you get the K frame from Sergi, yo will love it.
Leave the factory dye alone on it, you'll like it better in the long run. Just get the brass frame and let it build up a fine patina, then it will all match. You don't want to be the brightest marker on the field you know....

i have a old pmi1 i bought, the paint was half striped from what it looked like or someone hit it with a blow torch. I used a light sand paper and the paint came off within a few minutes, i polished the brass with some brasso and i think its a beauty.

is there any way to ensure the polished brass patinas out evenly? I'm getting spots and whatnot that just make it look dirty.
