I thought my chest rig would have been enough. But its not. My original idea was to carry mags on my chest, and have my holster on my lower back just with a belt. Eventually I want to run duel, in which case I would have 2 holsters on my lower back. So, I played, holster on the belt was loose and not as secure as I had liked. Solution, buy a good duty belt with a molle belt panel that slid on the belt. This was way to stiff, and would not sit where I wanted comfortably, below my waist and on my hips. So then I saw the WTFPB Spectre which looks really a lot like what I wanted. Problem though I would prefer a velcro strap up front. I dont feel the buckle will be secure enough preventing the load from bouncing around. I saw a previous molle belt WTF made, but unfortunately they wont make me one. Next saw the nxe extraktion molle pod pad. Looks great, but havnt heard much feedback on it from people that actually use it. One comment I did hear was the molle spacing is not as correct as it should be. True? If this pack is anything like my elevation pod pack, it would be awesome. I feel like that thing couldnt be more secure. And two similar options I found are the valken molle belt and dye tactical harness system, in which case I would only use the lower. What concerns me with these is the lack of padding at all. Anybody use these and can comment? I imagine the molle will conture with the curve of my back and butt, that when I actually put the holsters on, it will not be as comfortable as I would like. And finally the last option I found was the spec ops molle pod belt, but I have not heard great things about spec ops as of late.. Main thing is I want this setup to be black, which threw out the bt molle belt that looked slightly decent. I realize many of these options very greatly in price, but if it means getting it right the first time, well second time, I'm okay with that. I also want to play a few scenarios eventually, so a little extra molle room would be nice. Can anybody comment, help me decide, give me a bigger headache, lead me on to other ideas, whatever? I wish I could try them all, but unfortunately I dont want to spend all my money on paintball like I did back in the day, and this time I have a girlfriend to please. The NXe extraktion belt is nice for staying put. For a while I ran with that turned around as a chest rig with 4 or 5 mag pouches and a dump pouch. It sat just above the big belly very comfortably Also tried it on my back with upside-down pouches and it stayed put wonderfully. It's good nice rubber and padding on the inside like a pod pack so it stays well in the small of you back, just like, surprise surprise a nice pod pack. Then, I started running dual pistols and needed more space. So now it's a secondary setup for if I'm running single pistol or a loaner. The molle spacing isn't perfect on the small side pannels, but that hasn't caused any trouble securing things. The vertical spacing is a little tight compared to molle standard spacing. So, you might skip a single weave. For what I've tried on there it's still more then enough. Dump pouches, M4 pouches, couple holster types, and valken mag pouches. I can't say if it's going to be perfect for you, but even though it' not my current primary setup, IMHO it's one of the best additions to the rig collection I made for the $$. If you can find one I'd suggest adding it to your pistol rig collection to see if it's for you. They aren't expansive for what they offer, you can use the for a variety of setups, and they don't make them anymore.

I could also suggest a P3 pack, I had one a while back and it was nice and snug, little to no movement at all. All around good pack.

you can get the P3 customized however you want, or you could just get a molle front and put a pair of holsters there. HOWEVER...one comment...if you are playing pistol primary why do you need holsters? They will be in your hand 95 percent of the time anyways...

When I play I sometimes holster them and run around just for fun. Also I really like not having to carry them when in the staging area or something. Really more for a convenience I guess. Looking more at it, I definitely missed it. I only saw the one from spec ops with the buckles in the front, which I didnt like. May consider the p3 now. Plus gives me the flexibility if I want to ever hold more mags or something. Is there padding built into it? Last edited by matt; 01-23-2012 at 03:23 PM. |
