Let me know what you think guys.

Love it! On the end instead of a ring you could place a little knob that winds up the slack. Then you wouldn't have the string flying around. All you need is a simple catch that holds the follower down during the reload.

What's even better is that this mod would be non-permanent as it only needs to replaces a magazine. And people would only need one... so you won't be competing against the price of existing $15 7-round mags.

Cool and simper to reload then the idea above. But:
  1. Are you selling them?
  2. It looks like it required permanent modification.
  3. Are you selling them?

Actually, what you should be doing is selling the SA17 mags modified with your top feeding setup. I've often thought about snagging an SA17 due to pics of your top feed setup, but I wasn't looking forward to doing the guide modification myself. I just don't have a huge set of tools and stations here. If it's not a simple cutting off extra material, then filing and sanding. As in if it's not work with a dremel tool I don't do it.

Actually that's a fair point. You can just get another set of shells for in grip mag feed play.

As to the other questions though ... buying some of your handiwork ... any thoughts?

you dont even have to do that just flip the bolt block over and your done. Of course there is a hole in the top but it's just cosmetic.

Depending on how everything mounts, you could just use this and a better mag(made to shape with pistol).

Then the only mods are going through the top. You just flip the inner block and then cut the clamshells. Bit more expensive, but bound to be a bit stronger than just the clamshell mount.

Sadly I don't have the time or to be honest, the interest in building things for other people. I was building a second one of these for Crimson Death but took so long to get to it that he changed his mind and is going another direction with his TPX.

The other thing is most of my mods run contrary to popular opinion. Seriously, how many other people want a top-fed TPX? Not enough to be worth getting dealer connections for better pricing on clamshells and feedblocks, certainly. Same goes for the SA17 springfeeds. Even assuming I could find someone to supply them to me at wholesale, very few people are going to be willing to pay for my time, certainly not enough for it to be of any significant profit.

Thinking about it now though, milling a little bit off the top of that Lapco block would have been a much cleaner solution to mounting the mag than the hodge-podge of delrin bar and washers that is holding it on now...

So just so the least amount of dammage can be down to the TPX Shells. Flip the feed block inside the marker. Then you just need to cut the ball drop hole in halves.

It's just making a nice top feed that fits on the body after that with the lapco picatiny mount.
