TPX velocity - only too high or too low !
I was out on saturday and couldn't get my TPX to chrono, it would be shooting 320 ish the when turned down would go so low it would cycle or maybe 140 ish. I didn't have a long time to fiddle with it, so after a couple of times going through this I had to give up.
I had a lot of gear trouble that day, eventually I pulled out the old Zeus, which worked like a champ.
For full disclosure this was in Michigan with temps of 35-40F.
Anybody ever experienced this kind of Goldilocks syndrome, or care to vouch any theory than the cold and 12g's (Zeus was also on 12g's)
I had the same problem a year or so ago. I broke it down inspected everything, relubed and put it back together and then it chronoed fine. I never figured out what the problem was.
The pierce is a tough time on any pistol in the cold. I found using marker oil instead of the tippmann grease. After an hour or 2 of play the other day i reoiled it by dripping 3 or 4 drops into the pierce pin block. It reminded me pleasantly of the game Chutes Away! but with oil...that was at 2bags.
I also put a coat of oil on both sides of the bumper.
I hope that helps!
I have some Plamers synthetic lube will try if it happens again.
BTW I have present for you Rob next time we meet up.
Yes I use air tool oil not grease.
I also recently rebuilt my Blazer, and dilligently used dow 33 on all the orings.
worked fine before and at home later, but would barely cyle in the cold.
Air tool or synthetic lube thorugh it befor i try again.
thick grease gums it up in the cold.
