| Endearingly quirky | Actually the Blaphoon was made by a former employee of PPS after he'd left. I had the chance to purchase it awhile back, but Paintjunque snatched it up. PPS knows what works and what doesn't, and don't want to build a gun that won't perform up to their standards and hurt their reputation.

| I recently tried to get a PGP Stroker with a side-tube, and was denied; as mentioned above the pneumatics interfere and due to valve locations and such there's no way to get the LPR and Ram on the same side (without redesigning everything). You can get a K-frame done last I checked, DS requests you send in the marker for timing, and you may want to wait on finishing so you can get anno/powdercoat/whatever to match up as much as possible. |

| PPS is out of PMI Rubber Grips. The current standard grips are milled aluminum. I don't like 45 grips on a pistol, makes it harder for me to hold steady. K-Frame just doesn't do it for me either. But this is preference. As said, PPS doesn't sell the quicksilver anymore because 12gs sizes vary so much. Trust me, you're better off with the fastchanger, they adjust themselves as you screw them in till they push the 12g into the seal, where quicksilvers have to be taken apart to adjust. I've done the deed of sorting my 12gs before, but the first time I was away from my stash and needed more 12gs, I had to adjust 3 times in the same day. I've considered getting a fast changer to have something to use on a bad day or when I'm lazy but intend to keep the quicksilver. Feed plug leash is very important. I don't have one and wish I did. I had to buy a new plug once and don't ever want to do that again. Also, make sure the squall comes with the adjustable parabolic feed plug. The old plugs were angled at a set length, but then the adjustable parabolics came along as an upgrade that helps account for differences in paint size. Pro-touch is good, but is usually more about setting up the timing that you want rather than lightening the trigger pull, although that's typically a byproduct. The stock squall will have a lighter trigger than a new stroker, though I've seen some well-worn strokers that feel like they've had the protouch when they haven't. I suggest the protouch for direct feed typhoon type markers, but I don't think you'll get much benefit from the cost on a pistol. As was said, I think squalls are top feed tube only because the ram is on one side and the rock low pressure regulator is on the other. I also asked about this many years ago. The sights you show are fine, but will most likely end up being cosmetic rather than practical. However, a sight hood is a great practical sighting add-on. If you want a particular metal sight, my suggestion is to talk with the shop about sending it in. I had some fiber optic sights adapted/installed on my squall when I had it made. I bought the sights I wanted and shipped them to PPS and they did the brasswork to make it happen on that marker. Same on my houndstooth. QEVs are great and will make the marker faster and more responsive. I installed them myself on my squall, and every other PPS Semi I have, and they felt like different markers afterwards. Some don't notice the difference, but I did with mine. As was said, no annodizing, either nickel plating in solid polish, solid matte, or both in a pattern, or black zinc or powdercoat (which would work for white). You can have the endcaps and such annodized, but the body tubes have to be nickel, bare brass, zinc, or powder (I may be missing something, but can't remember if I am). As far as barrel length goes, I don't remember my barrel length offhand, but I get 11 balls in the mag and one in the chamber and the barrel matches the length of the mag. It's really great to be able to have 1 ball left in the mag plus one in the chamber when it comes time to reload a 10 round tube. However, if you want, you could shorten the barrel and magazine so that you have a total magazine capacity of 10 instead of 11. That'll get you just over half an inch shorter than standard. Consider that if you shorten the barrel, the marker probably won't be as efficient. I typically get 18-25 shots depending on weather and firing frequency, as well as what FPS speed my marker is chronographed to that day.

Depends on how you setup the Quicksilver.......I have one on mine and have it set just right that if the 12g is a different size I can twist the whole thing on the fly and it'll seal up perfect

| Leaving the quicksilver unscrewed from the lower tube slightly would certainly work. To be honest, it's not something that I've ever considered. Maybe it's because there's just something that bugs me about leaving a threaded segment untightened like that. That's just the OCD. I have seen a couple of old sheridans that were scrapped for having the lower tube threads stripped, although I can't remember what it was that stripped the threads. After all, the threads on the old 12g plugs were steel too.

| Thank you Dan, that was some very useful information. And thanks to everyone else who dropped me some wisdom, it's much appreciated. after careful consideration I've decided to go with a more stock squall to gauge how well I like the pistol itself. Since the resale value is high with these things I figure if I ever want a truly custom one done I could sell my current and have another made. Now the next thing to look forward to is the waiting list! ![]() thanks again guys
