GOG eNMEy Trigger Pre-Travel Adjuster Mod

What's that set screw doing there? Yep, I drilled and tapped the frame for a 1/4"-20TPI set screw to be used as a trigger pre-travel adjuster. This takes up all the pre-travel the trigger would normally do before actually striking the firing valve.

Trigger resting:

Trigger pulled:

It's roughly a 3mm pull, tried it out via dryfiring and I'm not getting any shortstrokes or chuffing or anything, so I'll call it a win. I can actually go a little shorter, but I prefer it how it is now. Also- much to my surprise, the safety still functions!

Yeah, this is one I could probably actually do in a timely fashion too. It took me all of about 10 minutes and most of that was deciding between 1/4-20 or 5/16-18 set screws...

I need to open up my grips again, I can't quite picture what it is doing.

EDIT: OH. I just checked out the manual. That's neat. What hole is your trigger spring on? And how long of a set screw did you use?

I did this exact same mod to mine....its amazing...dont tell the pneumag guys but with the adjustment screw it has a better mech trigger than any marker.

Go to home depot right now and pick up a screw and install it. Its amazing....it I cannot get it to short stroke now and the safety still works!

Adjust the trigger so you can just barely see a tiny sliver of light between were the trigger and the valve plundger meet.

AMAZING.

I think it's on the 3rd or 4th hole. If I remember right I actually stiffened it a little to guarantee it would reset as quickly as I could pull it. Would probably work on lighter settings, I just like to have a little bit of feel there. Still lighter than any other mech trigger I've ever used, ULT Mags included.

Set screw I think was 3/8" or 1/2" long, don't remember exactly which one to be honest. It was basically a reach into the hardware drawer and pull out a few that look like they'd work kinda deal.

The only catch here is there's only maybe 3-4 threads of real engagement, because the mech frames aren't as meaty in this area as the e-frames are. Since the only force that's ever going to be on it is whatever you have the spring set to, I don't think it will ever be a problem.

Awesome.
I was just thinking about how to mod the trigger.
I am definitely doing this tomorrow.
Can anyone confirm the length of the screw?
So I would need a tap as well, right?

I'm already loving this gun with its simplicity, accuracy, consistency and how it shots.
And all that for $130
Seriously thinking of selling all but two of my mags now.

All rental fields need to start getting these.

You need a 13/64" drill bit and a 1/4-20 tap, yes. A drill press with a vice helps, but as long as you're very careful and fully strip the frame (take the safety and trigger out, and be careful with the safety as it uses a tiny tiny tiny spring and ball bearing that like to fly out when removed) I don't see why it couldn't be done with cordless drill. Just don't let it twist around and oval the hole, the plastic is not very thick.

Thanks for the info.
Now I know exactly what to get.

I did mine sitting on my sofa with a cordless drill. Just drill a smaller pilot hole and let the set screw thread itself. The frame material allows this to work very well. Mine is super solid and will last a life time.
