Ha ha, when I looked through the pipe friday night I saw that it had a Rock-on-the-windshield looking crack(spiderweb-ish) on it but the eyes are still reading fine and worked flawlessly on saturday.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is an "eye-pipe". The newest Electro I've ever owned was from '04.

What's the reasoning behind making a "pipe". Are the eyes that fragile they need something to cover them?
