I had the same notion but I'm holding off on a falcon until I personally see one that works right. Harsh assessment but true.

Not trying to down play the Falcon as it's an amazing piece of machinery.

ofc there were a few minor prototyping bugs...like :

delrin sled had a bit of rub (fixed)

they added an oring to the cupseal

sear spring wasnt strong enough so they fixed that too.

Ugh, I didn't really want to discuss this but Splattt's falcon of course. Either he has gremlins in his house or the thing is a lemon. I don't want to drag it through the mud because it's pre-production but to me it hasn't made a good impression. And that's from someone who was greatly anticipating it's arrival and put off ordering a CCM to decide what to buy next. But that's for Apoc and Splattt to work out so I won't discuss it further.

I wouldn't consider Arrow-Precision's latest version of the Sterling a 're-make', and it's definately not a knock-off.

They've revised what was there, and added to the mix.
They've removed some of the biggest problems;

Velocity adjustment: Once the bane of all of us Sterling owners who used to have to change springs, add shims, or add a regulator, now done with a simple allen key.

Detent: Once needed to be done by Eclipse, Palmer's or other Airsmiths, now standard.

Barrel threads: Barrels were simply impossible to find, now threaded with the most prevalent thread pattern in Paintball.

Stock Class Version: Again, this would need to be done by a Custom Shop.

No, I think Arrow precision did it right, now all we need is parts..........

That's a matter of perception. What they are threaded for may not be a U.S. 'standard', but may be the european standard pneumatic/hydraulic logic fitting. But, that is just semantics, if the parts were readily available, would there still be an issue? Is it that the 'Q-nectors' are just so troublesome that owners don't want to use them?
I'm speaking solely from a point of view which is unfamiliar with this part of the product; I have several friends who have this version, and have had trouble with the 'Q-nectors', but due to the inavailability of parts, couldn't replace leaky fittings, so were forced to modify their guns to use other fittings. This would be a moot point if they could obtain replacement parts, and Sterling and Janek seem to be willing to do just this; get the users what they need. Seems lie a 'win-win' for us.

Actually, the detent and velocity was fixed in the previous generation STP, so it's more of an evolution. While parts availability will help, the gun is still not 100% of what it could be. I'd like to think I know what's needed out of a high end pump. Out of the box the sterling doesn't quite measure up to some of the competitors, which is unfortunate because with some changes it could trounce them. I can't agree on the hardline being ok. It's too problematic and out of place on a gun that can that can be nearly completely disassembled without tools. And while spyder threads are common enough, the de facto high-end standard is cocker thread.

I'd pay good money for a full uped sterling.

ccm spyder feedneck, siderwinder/stab/2liter reg spyder threaded freak barrelcp on/off asa with some nice annodizing.

someone should order a bunch of raw SC STP bodies and frames and do their own thing with them like put the parts on I mentioned above, annodize em, rethread the airlines, perhaps add an undercocking kit ( I would pay for one) maybe an extended rail for vert asa.

anyone else want a return spring in the box? I mean it doesn't even have to be on the gun, just in the box. I know some people love their pump stroke so much they loathe return springs, but I would like to see one on a $350 nib pump gun
