| MCB Member | I think I'm done for a while. (Mini SC sterling build)
So I have been working on a sterling for a while. Now it's my tiny and smooth stock class shooter instead of my autotrigger machine. ![]() It has: -Body 3D milled for a radius to accept phantom feeds and spyder feednecks -Custom pump handle -Custom brass dual pump rod setup -Custom back block -Custom delrin bolt(with velocity adjuster) -Custom valve body(to allow for back block) -Rethreaded cocking rod(almost 1 in shorter) -Freak bored and rethreaded phantom barrel -Phantom feed tube I was sure to tap both sides of the feed hole to allow for spyder feednecks. That way it can still be my autotrigger machine |

| MCB Member | Well It's freak bored and rethreaded to sterling threads. I don't really know what other details there are. I figured I love the phantom barrel. So, I rethreaded an 8" phantom barrel and now use a .679 insert. Then the stock pump handle was about the same length as the barrel and I was nearly shooting my fingers. So, I made a pump handle that is about .750 shorter. I then shortened the pump rod about 1" and continued the threads along the larger diameter section. |

I cannot stop coming into this thread and drooling over your sterling.. It is because of you I bought, well after the holidays, am paying for a new sterling body to have milled similarly. I have always wanted that though, so I'm not copying that much, but I am definitely copying the phantom barrel idea. Though, sort of always thought about that as well, just never pursued it since I didn't think or know it was possible. Now I am reexamining the pump handle and bolt... |

Question for you sir. With the stock pump handle, will an 7" barrel be inside the pump handle? I am getting an 11" phantom barrel rethreaded, and having the stock barrel shortened. I'm just trying to decide which length to get it cut down to. Though, I am considering a new custom pump handle as well, I just dont want to be stuck not getting to use the short one due to the pump handle. Thanks. |
