now back on topic... i agree with the bump crap. it sucks. once a week isn't too bad but everyday or even three days is kinda annoying. if you have to bump your thread that much, your doing something wrong and you need to reconsider your price or simply sell it elsewhere.

Bumps were never a problem before, but as the forum grows, so does the number of B/S/T threads. People think they have a better chance of selling something if they have it on the first page. This is true, somewhat, except that it has the negative effect of bumping DOWN every other thread. So those people will then bump there own threads for the same reason, which could technically put the original thread back in its original place. Generally, on MCB, it is not abused that way (unlike most forums). Though I'd only like to see a BUMP if either the price was lowered, or some other kind of update. A bump for no reason but to BUMP DOWN all the other threads is not really a proper thing to do.

A thread repeatedly bump every day or have : Pmed you/ pmed you back / pmed you / pmed you back would get a lower rating? Hopefully this would affect their sales and discourage people from bumping it every day. |

| Post Whore Join Date: Apr 2006 | ^ That could negatively affect honest sales. I like the idea of a third page bump and or once a week bumps. ------------ As for bumping in general if I see a thread has been on teh front page for several days in a row I generally start to skip it entirely as its most likely some one with a high price. Also I dont know about you guys but I look for new threads so once I see that same thread I disreguard it and hone in on the new stuff as its more likely not to be plundered.
