that is the DBD ballista

its a doom labs D3, bolt action, cartridge loading nerf/paint sabot launcher

watching it fire 100 paintballs over the trees
down on to the edge of the stilt field is a beautiful thing

shure, they hit 200 fps at apogee, and fall at a speed too slow to break,
but the sound of them raining into a squad of attackers is worth the HPA.

Well the gun it's first field test since the upgrades and it worked flawlessly. Not as heavy as I thought it'd be to use but, still heavy.I had my extra pack on so including the rounds in the gun I was carrying 1200 rounds and 2 20oz. tanks.Set to a slower R/T setting this still fired pretty quick so it should work out ok for the first part of Castle. Here's my inaction pic from Fox 4 Paintball Yesterday http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...amAug20029.jpg

The thing makes you look scrawny lol. Of course if you use it enough times and it might make you scrawny. The damn thing looks like it weighs half a ton!

Ok after using this a couple times at Fox 4 now,I've decided not to use this at Castle it'll be far to bulky to be practical.I've also since been corrupted and gone over to the dark side a bit,I now have a Ion Pro that I plan to use primarily at Castle instead

So how does the Ion shoot?

(I've been tempted to try one out myself. If I can find a way to rig it up backbottle with an anti-siphon 12 oz tank it'd be awesome.)

Watch out for that trigger. If you have one of the plastic triggers I have seen 2 shot off the gun at my local field. Were I to get an Ion, it would be one of the things I would be replacing as soon as I had the chance.

not to mention they're total crap (I tried out the trigger on an ion at PB Wizard the other day.)
