So I got bored and decided I wanted to build a mech cocker with all my spare parts. The specs are as follows:
32* center feed body (pre 2k I believe)
JAM bolt with delrin backblock
WGP hinge frame
Free flow ram
Lpc for the front block
The issue is I try to use my old boomstick and it hits on the ram but if I use one of my freak barrels there are no problems it seems that the jut out part where the boomstick is glued won't allow the screw in the barrel. Anybody have this happen before?
Rotate the ram so the barb isnt in the way.
That was my first solution to the problem but no luck
Is the ram bent. The bump on the Boomstick should be 1", and should clear fine.
Either your doing something wrong... or the ram is screwed up.
Got a pic?
Will try to get a pic tomorrow thanks for the help everyone
Is the front block on crooked? Look at it from the front.
I will look at that when I get home kanadian may be a possibility since I was enjoying a nice sized glass of jack during assembly
So I adjusted the front block just slightly and got my boomstick to clear. Thanks kaos, but if I mount my qev on the end I have the same problem any thoughts besides facing my ram barbs outward and using miles of LP hose?
Correct, your barrel will never clear with QEV's. You can mount them out and down towards the LPR like in this picture.
I had another one with an ANS ram with the QEV at the end. If I angled the QEV just right it cleared the barrel. EDIT: Found the picture, there you go. I had to use tiny rubber washers on the QEV threads so it would sit just right.
