| Apex barrel question So i'm contemplating putting an Apex on my cocker pump, but i'm not sure if the pump arm would be set back enough for the apex to clear it. I have a Psycho Ballistics cocker with a CCM basic pump kit on it. I know the Apex barrels aren't that long, so my question is: Would my pump arm be able to operate underneath an Apex? I can get one brand new for $55, and the info says the barrel is 10.75", or maybe 10.5" long. Any thoughts or ideas? |

| No, the stock Apex barrel does not have enough clearance for a pump kit. But, you can remove the Apex tip and put it on another longer barrel: Lapco Apex Ready or SP Freak APex Ready

| It might actually fit with one of the new short CCM handles, but it didn't with a standard WGP or WWA kits that I have.

| I don't have a mini pump kit, just a regular, so i'm guessing it won't work. I was hoping it would because then I could use one apex for my cocker AND my spyder, with a barrel adaptor. Oh well. It was a thought. |

| I just measured my APEX. Measuring from just past the threading, it is 5.5" for the length of the barrel. That measurement doesn't include the APEX part at the end. ............|---5.5"---| _______ _APEX__|:::::::::::::\\\\ If you really want the APEX you should get an adapter to put the APEX on pretty much any barrel. To get the APEX off the barrel (the barrel is terrible, by the way) you just have to loosen 2 screws. You can get the adapters from Palmer Pursuit or from Underground Mod shop. |

solution: remount the apex onto the tip of a barrel kit you dont use much... shown below on old style 12" kaner tip ![]() If you go this route, get a jam bolt to go w/ the apex... very very quiet set up and uberrange. I gogged a guy at 200+ft with this rig - on the run... alternate route : get a lapco "cocker sizer" adapter to add 2" to the stock apex barrel length. -- but the kaner thing is infinitely better. pps also makes some interesting apex adapters. I just use 30" x 3/4" of althetic tape to make the little hump that the apex swivels on. works like a champ if your barrel OD is consistant and perfectly matched to the apex ID -- i.e., old kaner.

| Ok, so how's about this. My original barrel is a 2 piece barrel. The tip on it is tapered off at the end and wouldn't work for an apex tip. Is there a certain size barrel or other tips I could get for my current stock 2 piece that would fit into the back on my stock barrel to give me the distance I need to clear the pump arm with an apex tip? If that's too confusing, just let me know. Sounds right when I thought it up but looks jumbled on screen. |
