Thanks so much for the info everybody. It's been very informative. Should I try to track down more info. Take it apart for more detail and inside parts. Or fix /check out and play with it. I'm sure that a higher end marker would have cost a bit new even before any parts / mods/ milling/custom Asa or other stuff. Is it special enough there would be any interest.

Any info on palmer before Dan split ? Or anyone know the story behind the nasty dispute. I like dirty history. !

So I'm currently looking at a Sheridan vm68/exc with up grades and milling done by Palmer pursuit shop /maybe Dan Debone custom in the 93-96 period. Any one know Dan?

Im fairly certain that that is a ProComp VM milling... the milled in rail is a dead give away, I had one exactly like that back like 12 years ago.

The top rail apears to bolt on looks a lot like a bolt on weaver type rail like on 10/22 rugers

no clue on dan, you've done quite a bit of research! if you want to rebuild it and run it, here's a couple sources:

VM68 / PMI 3 Seal Kit [SHER061] - $30.00 : Palmers Pursuit Shop, Where Custom Still Means Something
<b>VM68/PMI-3 Parts and Accessories

of course, the second link is ptp, where the powerfeed came from... lots more info in vm empire, along with interested parties if you decide to part with it

Just ordered a rebuild kit and figured I would take it apart and see what I got when the stuff gets here. Maybe even track down more info and see if I can find something cool.

On a side note any one that might have info would be grateful I have not contacted him yet but google says Dan left pps in 95/96 over ? A dispute/finances/differences ? And there's a record of a Dan Debone working for
Allegheny countny port transit authority since like 96? 16 years or so? Maybe the same master craftsman? I'd love to speak to him or have a history of it or just the story confirmed?
