Well, as I remember, back around 1995, Palmers was having financial problems. They were dumping huge amounts of money into the Blazer project... which had been dragging for years and years, and it was still not on the market yet.

On top of that, the business was losing money that was "unaccounted for". Palmer blamed Debone. Debone said that Palmer was wasting money. That went around in circles for a while, but its Palmers name on the sign, so he fired Debone over it. He left paintball.

A bit of a loss, as he was one of the few guys that did custom work on guns other than cockers.

Wow so he really got fed up enough to just leave the sport altogether. I would imagine you had to enjoy work like that at least a little to come up with such ideas and the time poured into each custom gun. I've seen a couple now that look similar to mine and I can see no less that hours of hard delicate work on them. ( and then there's the fact that the gun new was not cheap , and records I've found leads me to believe that the ol' Palmer persuit special custom job was kinda a 300$ and up kinda thing depending on how boss you wanted to be) and some of the custom guns hit close to a grand like some of the hurricane and typhoon nastys.... Wow that's all i can say.

So mr Debone left paintball and got some other job that would just pay the bills.? Would such a craftsman not miss the tinkering?
