| Endearingly quirky  Join Date: Mar 2006 Location: Rocklin, CA | And whoever buys it better know what they're doing mechanically. These are maintanance hogs, and very expensive to fix. I've heard of people swapping out the engine with a Chevy 350 for that very reason.

But porsche didn't actually come out with any sports cars until 1939, in 1931 when the company was founded they wanted to create "Auto für Jedermann" or Cars for Everyman. This being the philosphy they were creating the Peoples Car or "Volkswagen." The first actual sports car didn't come out until 1939 with the Prosche 64 a year after the KdF Wagen was produced. |
