Ok, I can be serious for a minute instead of goofing around. The reason it did both is because there are two detents. Looking at the positioning of them, there is one just past the D-hole, and another ~1" forward. The first one mentioned catches the first ball and wait for the bolt to push it up, this is the anti double feed detent. The second one is now in front of the ball with the bolt closed. This is the anti rollout detent. I'm betting that the detents seal up fairly well, so the second detent won't be the cause for much air loss (if any) when the shot takes place.
