Fep quest problems...

Alright. I got an fep quest, again...

Lpr valve core in the one I got was bad and it was blowing the solenoid. So, I bought a new lpr valve core (from critical), swapped it out and it is completely different from the one I have.

First: the stem goes farther out than the first one, because it won't thread all the way in.

Second: the first lpr had an o ring seal for the threads, and an lpr opening seal. The second only had one o ring that sealed the valve.

Both lpr valve cores do not seal the lpr, and it leaks out the vent hole on the inside of the lpr housing. Like it is bypassing the valve cores.

What do I need to do? Two out of the three quests I have owned have had this problem. I'm at the point where I'd rather build another lpr system for it then deal with the stupid crap FEP ( no offense ) incorporated into this marker.

I'd really like to get this quest working. I think that quests are the coolest looking stock setup markers, and I'd really like to use it exstensivley.

I have a 1st gen quest LPR block (no gauge port) and had to change the valve core as well, I used an FJC 2675 Volvo Valve Core and it's doing fine now:

FJC Air Conditioning 2675 Volvo Air Conditioning Service Port Valve Core

If you're like me and you like to keep spares for everything, you can get this in stead:

2675 FJC Volvo Valve Core (5 Pack)

Either way it's under $10+shipping.

If your quest is a gen3 or '07; it might be a different core, IIRC they changed it somewhere around that time.

That would be my case. I've got the lpr guagless block.

I'll contact Volvo then. Thanks.
