Mokal Mirage makes a brrrup sound? (sten / sterling)

I am just wondering why my Mokal Mirage makes a brrrup sound? Almost like the sound when your running out of air/co2 but shorter. And the next shot is perfect. I am thinking the ball is not in proper position and that interferes with the hammer hit. I have made a new extended sear and grip frame for this custom gun (major surgery). It moves the pistol grip/trigger group forward about 2".
In fires without a problem most of the time, 20% of the time burrp.

It also seems to do this when fired without paint. So I may be a sear / bolt match-up problem.

PS: I think this is a common problem when the sear is burred

Better days ...

Here's a sear similar to the one in the gun. The actual custom sear pivots near the middle. The length of the sear could be the problem. Leverage could be working against pushing up on the sear to block the hammer back,

Burp is the hammer bouncing on the valve stem, a quick burp there is enough bounce to have air reset the hammer when the seer is able to catch it, if you can fire again.

Either make the seer able to move faster in design, or a strong seer spring.
Magnets are also cool.

Thank you

The new grip frame has the possibility for two return springs so perhaps that will work. Possibly the sear isn't quick or forceful enough to catch the hammer every time.

Grip frame was made from 2 original frames - so there are 2 places to put return springs.

One other thing to check, from my experience working at a field that rented Mirages, see if the valve seal has come unseated from the valve cap. At least on the later model ones we rented the valve seal was pressed into the valve cap and the center crimped in to hold it. Sometimes the seal would wiggle out and then all kinds of weird things would happen. Generally low velocity and leaks, but burping was also sometimes a symptom.

I put original grip frame on and no buurrps. I assume i need to grind back of sear more precisely.
Looks funny -works well.

I re-ground the tip of the sear. Batting 80/90% now - 1 OR 2 burps in 10.

Issues with paint: Needs new paint with a harder shell. position of detente interferes slightly with feed. When you break a ball stops working.

I wonder if the sear pivot pin hole in the sear is causing burp? The machinist drilled it slightly over-sized (1/8 carbide drill wondered).

I fired from the hip with surprising accuracy out to 60'-70' . I also worked double taps - surprising good considering the long trigger pull.

thanks for advice

Batting high 90's now. Perhaps it needed a break in period.
