I've never seen the new style CP direct mount ASAs with the slot milled into them. Any idea if all of the new direct mounts have the stupid holes instead of the slot?

I think the mini direct mounts have the multi hole and the mini dovetail asas have the big slots.

I was able to pull both of mine of both types apart on the field with only allen wrenches but I don't remember if I used two and lots of will power. It was an asa thay sat for 10 years and developed a minor leak finally.

This is what im working against. It's a direct mount with that inside.

Does that mean it isn't as simple as grab a pull? Or is it just more of a pain in the *** to do so?

It is still just a simple pull, it's jsut going to be more difficult to actually grip it.

Probably snap ring pliars, and rotate it first to get it lose, then use the pliars to leverage it out. Maybe I will make a video
