What's for Sale - CADC - PWGSC

Pretty good deal if you ask me.

And just for the humour factor:
Small Hobby Machine Lathe - York Region Tools & Hardware For Sale - Kijiji York Region

Nothing wrong with an Atlas (seen some nice work done on them), but definitely asking a bit much in the price department. And for that price a 'Serious Tradesman' could buy a brand new import with a large capacity and still save money.

Haha, I grabed that one. The guy actuly drove 7 hours on bad roads to deliver it to me for no extra cost!! The unit is in pretty good shape for it's age and came with quite a few bits, the but real sucky thing is the spindle was split right in half. I guess I was so cought up in the moment when the guy showed up that I just wanted to pay him and start turning metal, live and learn right. But I still think I got a "fair" deal thou, I mean for 500 buck delivered right?

Anyway, Thanks.

I guess he figured it was safer for him to drive 14 hours round trip to give it to you so you wouldn't be likely to go over and beat the snot out of him!

Take pics of the damage?

Are you sure its actually broken, and not just the lock pin pulled out of the bull gear ? The last person to use it may have had it in back gear and then just disengaged it with the lever.

That makes it look distinctly like your lathe is all fooked up if you don't know what to look for.

Well, one would think so right? But the thing that gets me is he's a machinest, one that owns his own CNC machinery and runs his own business making special tubing for nuclear power plants. If this is all ture, why the heck would he drive all that way just to rip me off for $500?

Oh and, look broke to you?

Anyway, I told him about this problem through E-mail and he said he would look for a replacment after the holydays. Lets hope he's somewhat a man of him word.

Thanks.

Thoughts on that unit? 110v? How much is a tailstock?
Its a hobby size lathe, looks to be in good shape. The answer to question 2 is right in front of you. question 3 all depends on how persistent you are. there are 2 on ebay for 150-175.
