And we came so close to buying one of their Marine Carriers, would have been excellent to have that capability..

The guys that I know that went on that EX had an excellent time, but they're all Logistical support, so no running around in the sand for them. Running in sand sucks

Buddy's post about the invasion is awesome

Our sea-bourne capabilities are severly lacking right now.

"Ottawa realizes that this has become a problem and is working towards an equitably solution for all parties involved at this stage of the negotiations and will quickly relay any decision made to all concerned in order to comply with all Departmental directives and/or instructions."

If Gen Hillier had his way, we would have bought 2 of them last year . Given the current fiscal restraints in place around here (you should see the amount of people that have lost their Blackberries around here haha ), I am not holding my breath for that Army posting in Halifax to open up anytime soon.

No doubt... We still have the world war II era landing craft on the AOR class ships and the frigates dont have anything capable of landing large numbers at all.

Bloody budget restraints... We NEED new equipment!! the AORs are 40 years old! the 280s are not that much younger and the CPFs are going to start their SECOND mid life refits!!

The JSS is still just a pretty picture in a magazine (need 4, ordered 3 will be lucky to get 2) The Northern patrol vessels are finally being realized as a bad idea, The Chacootamie will never sail again and the only "operational" sub we currently have is still months in a dry dock from ready! Sea kings are falling out of the sky and the replacements cant do the job...and thats just the Navy...
