T2 Autotrigger not catching when I AT very fast.

The gun is timed correctly and when I AT slowly (maybe 1-2 bps) it works fine. But if I REALLY get on it 4-5 bps I think the sear is not catching the lug and it never cocks. I just replaced the sear spring and it still does the same thing.

I am pretty sure it's not cocking because you can hear the hammer hitting the valve very lightly. but it's not actually firing any balls. They are just feeding into the breech.

Any thoughts?

There should be about 1/8" of a gap between the backblock and body when the gun should fire... If it's indeed about that size, try turn the sear lug half a turn in, and/or out and see if it makes any difference.

I have it right at 1/8". If I go as much as a half turn in or out I start to run into other issues.

For example if I drop the lug lower (by turning it in) it AT's fine but when I don't AT it doesn't always drop the hammer reliably. I have to almost "squeeze" the trigger to get it to fire.

Did you remove the gripframe at some time? Maybe it's not placed correctly, giving you this issue. The back of the gripframe should be flush with the back of your lower tube. Loosen the grip screws, and see if the gripframe wants to move a little more to the back and try from there.

That's pretty much all i can think of..

That was one of the first things I tried. I also made sure that all of the other screws were snug.

I had the chance to try a couple of other T2's yesterday but I didn't even think about it. Looks like I'll be giving CCM a call.

Called and spoke to Rod. He had some ideas, I'll try them out after work and see where it leads.

Had this problem a few weeks ago - dropped the lug and made the timing tighter and it solved it. I have not had the problem to the extreme you have.

Check your trigger - yes the delrin part after you take of the frame - is there any wear there?

Mine is a total wild assed guess - let me know what you find out.

Hey TF,

I checked the trigger and there really wasn't any significant wear. I replaced it anyway, still have the same problem. Rod suggested that I loosen the timing just a bit. I am going to give that a shot. If that doesn't work it could be that the sear may just be a little off since it's a hand finished component.
