Removing and Installing Pump Arm

Have a standard CCM kit on my 2k2, ordered an EZ pump handle thinking I could simply unscrew the pump arm. Nope! I have also chewed up the arm a little bit, but it still seven its purpose. I don't mind buying a new pump arm, but can anyone tell me the proper way to remove it?

Edit: Seems like using a hair dryer or heat gun to loosen the loctite is the way to go.

Next question: When installing a new pump arm into the pump handle, is it necessary to use loctite?

I like to use loctite, if you don't the pump arm could slowly unscrew (or further screw itself in) itself and change the gap b/n the back block and body.
