Wiggly Phantom Feed Neck

So I got my Mongo made duckslide style feedneck for my phantom. I've finally got it just about how I want it... Just need to get the valve body I bobbed anodized black.

Here's the deal though. The feedneck is not on very solid like. The screw is cranked down very securely, but the feedneck still wiggles and I'm afraid it's going to mess up the nice cocker threaded body I've got.

I want to utilize the threaded hole in the valve body to secure it, but I don't know how to go about doing that. Anyone have an idea on how I can do it so I don't obstruct the flow of the paintballs down the tube and still have it look good?

Depends on the wall thickness of the feed tube. Unless it's really, really thin, I think your best bet is to use a nylon setscrew (Home Depot sells them) and tighten it into the hole on the valve (6-32 I think it is), and drill a hole almost exactly the OD of the setscrew, maybe a little smaller. This way you can place the feed tube on there so that the set screw holds it inline with the valve and the primary screw will prevent it from rotating without having to deal with a more complicated system.

Thanks guys. Turns out, upon further inspection, the problem was the stainless thread insert on the body. It isn't completely flush with the body, which on the stock delrin feed tube isn't a problem, but the harder aluminum feed tube sat up on top and rotated a bit. A simple recessing of the feed tube and it's super secure.

I may still do your little trick Siress, as extra stability is never a bad thing.

Good luck on your feed tube project Stripes. I'm interested to see how yours looks once it's finished.

Thanks Redneck. It's pretty much done, though I am hoping for a vertical asa from Have Blue... and I have a bobbed valve to put on it after it gets black ano. Almost down to no CCI parts on it... which brings up a funny story.

I was showing Mike Cassady (Mr. CCI himself) my gun at SPE 09, and he was really digging it. I half apologized for it being more aftermarket than stock CCI... He actually seemed very pleased that so many people are using his platform to make great parts. Mike is the man... I love my phantom.

Nope... but then, I didn't do it for efficiency sake. I almost never run 12grams, mostly using the 3.5oz. I prefer the look of the bobbed valve... and having a better looking gun gives me +3 sniper skills
