Mag fed mechanical ion

Hey guys I thinking of making a mag fed mech ion by means of either mounting the inner body upside down and modifying the breech or leaving it upright and cutting a new breech can. Due to current lack of availability of mechanical conversion kits I will have to make my own. This will be my first custom build so wish me luck and help me not do anything stupid.

I would highly recommend talking to someone like Punisher68 for advice here.

Don't cut another feed port, just rotate it. My project's are SP-1/VIBE breach based, so I can help you, but punisher68 has heavy ion firing can experience, and also with the mech stuff as well.

So far I think I'm going to mill the entire "bottom" flat breech can and firing can but I haven't figured out how to hold the thing in the stock as it will all be upside down

Yes this wont be easy if it should look good after !!!

My "SPYON" got a Frame on top so itīs easy to install but itīs may to high for you and also may does not look good enough !?!?!?

What i havenīt tested is turn the Piece of the the breach a 1/2 turn and test if the ION still works !?!?!? If ... you can easy install in your stock and i will do it the same way when i go build my "SPYON" more compact.

It's ugly for sure but if it works then awesome. I can only hope that my gun looks half as good a scougar's when I'm done

There's two routes you can go,run the soleniod on top (Easiest) or redo the center(QEV) fitting to be on the same side as the breech
If you decide on#2 You'll have to use Milsig square heads to clear the QEV, ,you'll also be committed to using the gen1,non BOB Ion can for the rotating rear donut & fitting or redo a BOB can also a few other buggers about running it that way
I'd recommend DAM mags for #1,there quality is high, the magwell is available and they feed from the rear making clearence easier
Also the SP1/G1 Vibe, etc parts can be crossbreed with some modding
The Ion solenoid&board is more robust but the GoG board & noid but the GoG is more modular and easier to mod
