Back in the dark times when some of these rules were thought up people actually believed barrel porting had affects (ie accuracy, spin, magic pixies, etc) beyond noise reduction.

For instance am I allowed to use a spring in that stick feed? Am I allowed to use a lever action? Am I allowed to use a set of pneumatics to decrease pump stroke? What about a pump mag?

So I propose for further modification:

A stock class gun uses a stick feed parallel to the barrel of the gun with the feed being gravity fed without mechanical assistance. Manual actuation must be parallel to the barrel and requires at minimum a .68" movement in a single direction to actuate - multiple directions are allowed but one single direction must be at least .68". It is powered by 12 gram cartridges that require at least 1.5 turns of the holder mechanism to remove.
If you are willing to organize a stock-class game, then I guess you can implement whatever rules you want. However, when you over-complicate what was once 3 simple guidelines, and start "fine-tuning" them, it will result in both confusion and an extremely limited turnout.

Again, there has been page after page of people proposing this and advocating that in this thread, but how many of these people are actually hosting stock-class games? How many have bothered to attend the stock-class games in their area (if any)? Proposals are fine, but if you're not willing to organize a stock-class game, or even just attend one, then what's the point?

What everyone seems to consistently loose sight of is the fact that the term "stock-class" is NOT just about the equipment used. It's about preserving the original spirit of the game - which is to have fun. The attitude of the stock-class players that we play with is such that little details like a pneumatic assist do not make a difference one way or the other. Is it really realistic to expect that refs or game organizers are going to whip out a ruler and measure fractions of an inch in pump stroke? Of course not. Just getting everyone to chrono is a chore. Ensuring that every player's gun has a 1.5 turn to seal a 12-gram just isn't a reasonable expectation from the perspective of a game organizer or a ref.

Besides, then I couldn't use my Micro CA II.

The whole point of limiting the ability of the equipment is to provide relative equality as far as firepower goes, restrict the potential for overly-aggressive playing tactics such as "bonus balling", and promote fun and good sportsmanship (i.e. preserve the original spirit of the game). As long as everyone is fielding equipment that is operated and functions in relatively the same manner, then that goal has been achieved. There is no need to complicate the matter any further than that.

Another PURE stock-class game...

You need both hands to re-set the marker between shots.
If it's a lever, bolt-action or pump makes little difference as long as it has a single 12g & a horizontal stick feed using 10rnd tubes.

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

First time reading threw this. Lots of stuff I did not know and great history of the sport. Im glad SC paintball has evolved to more excepting rules as it would exclude a ton of players.

After attending my First S/C game TAC's Stocktoberfest and had one of the most fun days of paintball Im hooked. I really wish it was more popular so people today could realize the bang for your buck, sportsmanship, and all out fun involved in playing SC paintball.

As far as Im concerned throw on a 10-12 round feed and 12g cracker on a pump and lets battle. If you got A/T just don't use it. Your still keeping with the spirit of the game thats whats important. IMO

If the rules alowed for modified cocker pumps I bet you would see more people trying it. After all we are talking about a nich rules within a niche style of play with in a niche sport. Then we wonder why attendance is low. lol

As SC enthusiast that can only find open play environments 99% of the time at this point Im happy with no ramping.
