I've always wanted a marker that is capable of playing a soundbyte on start up (A la the 'Beware the Man with the Golden Gun' E-Mag).

It would be enough to make me buy an electro!

I tried and was not able to make room on the board for a sound device. But I will keep looking into it. There is t a lot of room for new chips on a cocker board.

Quick update:
Spent the weekend working on my android app. I can definitely send and receive data. And as a bonus, the way BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) works is very good with this type of project because ettings are built into catagories and items, known as Services and characteristics. Perfect for paintball because I can create a catagories for timing, amd put all my timing parameters into that catagory.

Anyway, enough technical crap. The point is, I have an basic Android app now.
I still need to make it pretty, but for right now it does function.

I don't have them yet, but the prototype boards have been manufactured, and are being shipped

Fan of EMR
I love the idea of being able to mess with someone at the field.
Connect to the marker using Bluetooth and then change the ROF mid-game to 1 ball every 3 seconds.

Wireless technology is so much fun.

btw, this isn't meant as a dig to the board. I'm sure you'll have some sort of password protected method of pairing a phone to the marker but people share passwords or leave their phone unlocked off field when playing.

Got my prototypes a couple of days ago. Still installing all the components, but so far everything is working!

You should highlight this over on the Inception Forums (where a lot of paintball industry engineers visit), I think they'd find this interesting.

Good News, I think I'm just about ready to order the first run (of 10 to 20 boards) to sell. Anyone who wants to get in on this, please let me know. I will be selling this first batch for $100 each. Here are some things to consider:

1) THIS BOARD IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. This board may not be for everyone. Yes, I'm trying to pack in all the extra (and unnecessary) features I can think of. I like the idea of having something custom and packed with stuff, and I think other cocker owners can relate to this. But if what you really want is an E1 board, then I suggest you find one of those.

2) The program is not complete, but as this is based on Arduino, you will be able install updates yourself. Installing code to the board is NOT very difficult, but I wouldn't recommend this if you aren't tech/PC savvy (at least not the first run). If you are not interested in learning how to do this, then you should probably wait for a later version of this with a more refined program. However, I will install my current program into each board, so you will be able to use the board. I will also post some video tutorials on how to upload the program to the board. As the program is developed, I will post the program files online so you can download them and install them to the board.

3) You do not need to be a programmer to use this board. However, C++ is not difficult to learn, so you can customize your board if you choose to. Many people around the world are learning to program C++ on arduino prototyping boards, so if you want to tinker with it, you can. I want to post some tutorials that explain my the program code, but this may be in the future when I get closer to finishing the final program.

4) These if you choose to buy one of these "First Run" boards, they will probably be ready to ship in about 2 months, providing there are no major setbacks.

5) I will be taking money via Paypal, I will provide a refund (via Paypal) before the boards ship, if someone "changes their mind". After the boards ship, I will only provide a refund if the board is returned undamaged. I WILL HAND TEST EVERY BOARD IN MY OWN PERSONAL AUTOCOCKER, so we can both be sure the board works.

6) The color screen will not be included with the board, because of the cost and because many people have expressed mixed opinions on using the screen. However, the board should be compatible with the Nextion 2.4" and 4.3" color touch screen. If you want to use this, you will need to buy it on your own. These screens were based on a crowd-funded campagn and were just released a couple of weeks ago. Here is a link, so you can take a look for yourself:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/n...tft-hmi#/story

Currently, the board has these hardware features:
16Mhz 8bit Microcontroller with 128kb program size, 8kb ram, 4kb eeprom.

Bluetooth chip (for USA shipping only), with a (very basic) Android app to change settings.

Compatible with the new Nextion 4.3" and 2.4" color touchscreen, NOT INCLUDED.

Multi-color LED for programming without Android app and without Nextion screen.

Optical trigger sensor OR micro-switch trigger.

Tournament lock push-button.

Uses standard 9v battery.
