Best cheap box for Oring organization?

There are tons of these things... but which is the diamond in the mountain of junk?

Id like to sort out buna 70s from 90s. 2 different boxes id imagine. and perhaps a 3rd box for metric and beyond.

Or if you go to walmart it's in the art's and crafts section. A container that looks like those. Might have 36 compartments or even more.

The first one I got came from Hobby Lobby for sorting beads and jewelry making stuff. Then I got a Lock lid Plano box (pretty sure it is for small screw/bolt storage from Murdoch's Ranch/Feed Supply, and I haven't looked back.

Let me see if I can find a model number for you.

Tackle box?

Perhaps you should visit the sporting goods department. There are tackle boxes which might solve your problem. Removable compartmentalized trays in one carry package.

Plano Tackle Boxes

Yeah, the Plano I have is #3999 and is an insert tray for the first Plano Tackle Box shown. You can buy them separately, but you get a deal buying the whole Tackle Box.

Hope this helps. Plano makes pretty solid gear. My main waterproof gear bin is also a Plano, so I guess I lead towards them.

Harbor Freight also have these in seemingly 100 different sizes if you have one of their stores near you. Usually they're under $10 too, IIRC.

This is what I've found also.

Its always that there is "the one" that works best for any given situation so I though id ask. I do need 20+ compartments though so I am somewhat limited. I have a cheap box with adjustable dividers that is too fragile, the dividers always wiggle up and mix contents. I'll report back when I find "the one"

Don't forget a nice label maker if you don't already have one to identify each compartment!

I need to invest in a larger one, been expanding in markers serviced and more dedicated orings popping up. I use ones more like this style for the workbench:

I have a smaller plano with marked baggies for day of play that makes the gearbag.

Dab of hot glue will take care of moving dividers. Takes a bit to apply if there are a ton of them but it'll work. Just slide the divider out, dab of hot glue on top of the slot, then slide the divider in.
